Prof. Saad M. AlShehri is the Acting Dean of College of Science and General Studies at Alfaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Formerly, he served as Dean of Riyadh Community College at King Saud University (KSU), and Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at KSU College of Science. He earned his B.Sc. from KSU in 1984; his M.Sc. from Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA in 1989; and his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Leicester, LE1, UK in 1992. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow at both Northeastern University and the University of Leicester.
His research interest covers a wide spectrum in the domains of synthesis of inorganic materials and their industrial applications. He has synthesized heat resistant and thermally stable material. He has also investigated inorganic and hybrid materials for electro-catalyst (ORR, OER and HER) and for energy storage devices, such as electrodes for lithium ions batteries and supercapacitors. His publications exceeds 145 research papers in highly reputed international journals, and he has already obtained 4 US and 1 European patents. Moreover, a number of his papers and patents are currently in the process of publication. Prof. AlShehri received King Saud University award for Scientific Excellence for Innovations and Technology in 2016.
